November Stitch Fix

Well, this month was a bust for me and Stitch Fix. Because of the holiday I only received one box this month and I didn’t keep anything in it.

For this box I requested buffalo plaid tops and an outfit to wear to an upcoming baby shower as well as some stud earrings.  I wanted to keep a few pieces but not the whole box, however since I didn’t want to keep the whole box I didn’t keep the pieces I wanted. I didn’t they were worth what they were charging for them.

In the note from my stylist, Caitlyn, she said she looked at my previous fix’s and my Pinterest board to get a feel for my style (which I do think she got my style). She says she included a sweater dress for the baby shower, a top with a pop of buffalo plaid, and some other tops to wear for a cozy fall looks.

Here is what I got!

crp4feks3f84tkyztxkb
Pinque : Westlake Textured Pullover : Burnt Orange : Large : $38 : I did like this seater, but the knit was a little more open than I prefer for a sweater. I do think that I was sent this same sweater in green a few boxes back. This was great quality just not something I was looking to purchase.
jfpfzjczpdkywjqbowar
Market & Spruce : Zansia Curved Hem Knit Top : Black  : Large : $58 : I loved this top so much, it was so cozy and soft and the fit was perfect. I loved the buffalo plaid on elbows. However, this was way too much for what this shirt, that is why I choose not to keep it.
e4pabq2ns25d9womlpup
Pink Clover : Denver Knot Front Detail Knit Top : Olive : Large : $38 : This top was a great pick for me. However, I didnt like the knot at the bottom. I am not a fan of those types of tops. But this top was so soft and I loved the quarter length sleeves. If you like tops with the knot at the bottom, I would suggest asking for this in your fix.
wlhrzbkagbdrv92hzmuk
Nine Britton : Nori Ribbed Knit Dress : Navy : Large : $48 : I really liked this dress. This is the dress my stylist said she sent for an upcoming baby shower that I will be attending. I did love this dress, but for the price I didn’t think it wasn’t anything fancy or something that I couldn’t get at TJ Max or Old Navy, so I decided to return.
xcrxnky9dsgykqwblrtt
Shashi : Claire Stud Earring Set : Gold : $36 : I did request stud earrings in this months box, but I didn’t love these. I was really looking for more of a single pair of statement studs. I don’t know if you can tell by the picture but these were all really small earrings and they were all gold. I don’t wear much yellow gold so these weren’t my style.

Box Total: $218
Buy all 5, 25% discount : – $54.50
Total with discount: $163.50

For my next box, I didn’t request anything specific. I just asked for some warm cozy winter options that I can wear to work and out to a dinner with friends.

Even thought my last two boxes haven’t been the best, I still love StitchFix and look forward to my next box!

October StitchFix!

I loved my box’s last month, so I was really looking forward to this month. I requested some more fall cozy clothes that I can wear to work as well as some athleisure pieces that I could wear to Disney at the end of the month.

I was surprised when I got my box to see that I was given a new stylist. My new stylist’s name is Cheyenne. In her notes she said she included the jeans because she thought they could be versatile and worn with a lot of different options, also she included the hooded top because it would be an easy to throw on for my upcoming trip. She also said she included the cross body bag for the trip so that I could be hands free.

I was a bit bummed about my box because I was really looking forward to getting something cute to wear to Disney. But overall the box wasn’t terrible. Below is what I received in my first box.

svtlyhgl1ahu5yyipudi
Rd Style : Rowca Crew Neck Sweater : Olive : Size L : $68: I did like this sweater, it was long and would be perfect to wear with leggings. I decided not to keep this top because of the price, I thought it was too much for this sweater.
llka6jgtykizru71yzuh
Pink Clover : Hilary Brushed Hooded Knit Top : Purple : Size L : $44 : The fabric on this top was really soft, but I just don’t like thin knit hoodies like this. At least for me, I cannot really wear a real t-shirt under it, so it isn’t practical. Also, for the price I didn’t think it was worth it, so I decided to return.
j1nbgwz0ud3pvz3g9aqt
Vigoss : Colle Distressed Skinny Jean : Blue : Size 12 : $68 : I did really like these jeans and even though they were a crop jean, they fit me perfectly in the length. I decided not to keep them because I wasn’t a huge fan of the color. They were lighter in person than they show in the picture.
hqujzazf2p8qusuyu2se
Street Level : Demi Fold Over Vegan Leather Cross Body : Brown : $48 : I was bummed I received this purse, mainly because I have watched multiple StitchFix unboxings and a lot of them had this purse in their box. They must be pushing this bag this month. This bag isn’t really my style at all, so I returned and made sure to say that I didn’t want any accessories in my next box.
ee3o34pqaxcyasnc5tyk
Hummingbird : Liara Knot Front Knit Top : Burgundy : Size L : $34 : This was the only thing I kept from this box. I liked the fit of this top and the material is great. I do need more short sleeve tops I can wear to work, so this was a good pick for me.

For my next box of the month, I did request for my old stylist Rachyl back because I felt like she was finally getting the hang of my style since I loved both boxes last month. I also said I wanted more cute easy fall stuff. I also included that I was really into buffalo check pattern currently.

In my second box of the month I got another new stylist, her name was Victoria. Apparently Rachyl is on leave, so I will have to wait for he to come back!  In her note she said she included a buffalo plaid top (which I requested that print in my notes) that she thought was good for fall, along with a go to cardigan and some great distressed jeans.

Below is what I received in my second StitchFix box in October.

yudbooaplughytc4eyuj
Madison Lily : Serra Cable Detail Cardigan : Size L : Grey : $44 : I did like this cardigan a lot, I wish it would have been a bit longer. I didn’t keep it because I already have a bunch of grey cardigans.
kkq84clffncthc8yp9zw
Kan Can : Annalisa Scissor Hem Skinny Jean : Size 12 : Indigo : $58 : I have heard great things about this brand of jeans, they actually sell it on Amazon. These fit great except in the bottom, they were to baggy around the ankle and because of the cut hem you couldn’t really do anything to fix it.
g9odnfrvmvszzkifqcnm
Cosmic Blue Love : Jacy Button Down Cotton Top : Size L : Red : $68 : I didn’t even try this on, when I pulled it out I knew I wouldn’t like it. I don’t like button downs because my chest is too big, and I could also tell this was too narrow for my broad shoulders.
drbwaelrculkllxajgql
Madison Lily : Yanna Pullover : Size L : Grey : $38 : I thought I was for sure going to like this, but I didn’t. You can see in the picture how the pattern changes on the sides, that cut/pattern isn’t flattering one me.
cxhfq8goqcrbgujam4fh
Papermoon : Aubrey Cold Shoulder Knit Top : Size L : Dark Purple : $38 : I also thought I was going to keep this shirt, I liked the material and the fit, but the cold shoulders were just slits in the sleeve, you cannot tell by the picture but it wasn’t a traditional cold shoulder, so I returned.

I didn’t keep anything from this box, this is the first box I haven’t kept anything. I just wasn’t feeling like spending money on any of the items because I didn’t really like any of them.

For the next box I requested some cute stud earrings, some buffalo plaid print items, and something to wear to an upcoming baby shower.

September Stitch Fix

Since I have style pass, I was able to get 2 Fix boxes again this month! Both boxes had great choices, I think my stylist is finally understanding my style!

After my last box in August, I just put a note to my stylist that I was giving her a free for all to picks some cute fall transitional pieces for me. I really just left my note simple and didn’t request anything specific. This turned out great for me, I feel like sometimes the more specific I am the less I like the pieces she chooses. Going forward I am just going to have to trust her to pick pieces she thinks I would like to wear and not be so specific!

In my first box of the month, I LOVED every single piece she sent and I really wanted to keep them all but this was one of the more expensive boxes I have received, and I couldn’t justify spending the money on some of the pieces.

In my stylist Rachyl’s note to me she said she included some pieces that would take me from summer to fall, with not only the styles but the colors. She said she included a dark wash denim because I have expressed interest in dark jeans in the past, a jacket to take me into the cool fall nights and a scarf because she noticed I liked a lot of scarves on my daily Stitch Fix style quizzes.

Now for what I got in my first September box….

koqvid0xth6gpkfw1ezl
41 Hawthorn : Chaplin Essentials Lined Hooded Jacket : Olive : Size L : $94 : I loved this jacket so much! Not only was this so cute for the fall but it fit great. I loved the orange detail on the zipper and the lining was a cute black and white stripe. I didn’t keep this because I couldn’t justify spending almost $100 on this jacket. I am holding out that I will find something similar at TJ Maxx soon!
h7ebtupnjnbskzrpfk02
Octavia : Amare Plaid Oblong Scarf : Burgundy : $34 : I loved this scarf, I thought it would be great for the cooler weather since it was more of a wool material. I didn’t keep this because of the cost. In my opinion that is too much to pay for a scarf, but also the material shed really bad, after just trying it on my shirt was covered in red fuzz.
dxcfqcrnqwm7h1vijzsa
Mix by 41 Hawthorn : Arcola Side Binding Knit Top : Size L : $48 : I did keep this top, even thought it is more than I would prefer to spend on a top. However, this top fit great, the material is so soft and I don’t really have anything like it in my wardrobe. This pieces will be great for fall, winter, and spring weather.
sn0ustqxung6iwt5n7mq
Just USA : Marian Skinny Jean : Color Indigo : Size 12 : $58 : I surprisingly loved these jeans. It is hard to find jeans that fit just right, and even though these were a bit long, I just cuffed them and they fit like a dream. They have a bit of stretch to them but not too much, they are a mid rise dark jean, which is exactly my style. I did keep since the price point and the fit was great!
oghpgvtiexz4ug9mvcfx
Nine Britton : Privett Back Detail Knit Tank Dress : Purple : Size L : $44 : The majority of the dresses I have received in my boxes are around the $40 mark, and even though I prefer to not spend that much on a dress, I really liked this one. I decided to keep this because I loved the color for fall and thought this would be perfect for an upcoming trip to Florida in October.

Box Subtotal: $278.00
Buy all 5 – 25% off: 69.50
Order Total: $208.50

Since I loved this first box so much, I requested to keep my same stylist, and again included a small minimal note for the next box. In the note I just said how much I loved all the clothing options she included in the previous box and how I wanted her to keep on the same trend for the next box. I asked for comfy, cute and casual pieces to transition into fall. I also included that I would be taking a trip to the beach and to Disney next month so I would like some pieces that I could wear at home and take to to Florida as well.

Rachyl my stylist killed it again, she included some great easy options. I didn’t feel the need to keep all the pieces this month (which was good for my wallet) but all the options were very much my style and on trend for what I requested. In her note to me she said she included some cozy fall options that could also work for my upcoming trip, and to mix it up she also thew in some shorts and a long sleeve top.

Now for what I received in my second box…..

dilwkw2fe443hpbxwz73
Market & Spruce : Estoria French Terry Pocket Top : Dark Grey : Size L : $58 : The material on this top was very soft, but I didn’t like the fit of this. It was more form fitting, which I am okay with, however the pockets made it look weird at the bottom. Since it didn’t fit great and the price was too high, I didn’t keep this top.
zxbawlvhdbo0tcatoiyp
Pink Clover : Daisee Button Back Detail Knit Top : Dark Purple : Size L : $34 : I did keep this top, even though it is more than I like to spend on a top, I have found that this price is pretty average for Stitch Fix. You cannot see in the photo, but this has cute buttons that run down the back of the top, I don’t own any button back tops, so I thought this would be a good addition to my wardrobe. The knit material is also a bit thicker  than a normal tee, which will be nice for the cooler Fall days.
xsbfnb7eolxmcaxh8vv1
Tinsel : Shyla Denim Short : Indigo : Size 12 : $38 : When I first saw these shorts, I didn’t think I would like them due to the color, I usually prefer medium wash shorts, but I loved the fit of these. These shorts have a bit of stretch, but not too much, they were actually a bit big, but I like my shorts bigger. The length on these is perfect, not too short and not too long and I loved the cuffed bottom. Also, for $38 I couldn’t pass these up.
piyfd986rup5qgnxrlam
Z Supply : Derick Scoop Neck Knit Tank : Light Green : Size L : #34 : This tank was cute, but it was very form fitting, which I don’t really prefer in my tank tops. I also have a few tanks that are similar in style and color so I choose to return this one.
oe7oftxyvugmivelt7nz
Look by M : Sammie Plaid Infinity Scarf : Mustard : $34 : Same as the scarf in the last box, this is too much money and I have something similar. I love scarfs but cannot justify the cost on this.

Box Subtotal: $198.00

August Stitch Fix

This month I received not 1 but 2 Fix’s! I downloaded the Stitch Fix app because I received an email that told me about a new daily style quiz that you could take online or in the app. In the app was an additional offer for me, it was for a 1 time $50 Style Pass that would allow me 1 year of Stitch Fix boxes. This offer allows me to request as many boxes as I want without having the styling fee! Bonus, the $50 fee goes toward any purchases I make.

I of coursed jumped on this offer! This allows me to not feel obligated to keep purchases in the box because before I would loose my $20 fee, and this also allowed me to increase my frequency of my boxes, they are now scheduled to come every 3 weeks! So this month I received two boxes.

After I received my July box I was really excited to get my August box, I thought my stylist really got my style since I loved and kept all the pieces. For the August box note I said that I wanted more Jolie brand pieces because I have just loved all the dresses that my stylist has sent from them. I also asked for more t-shirts that I could wear to work as well as a cute pair of closed toed shoes that I could wear to work as well. Below is what I received in my first August box!

vi7sw9yefyizjje1fiug
Nine Britton – Skylee Knit Dress – $44: This was the only thing I kept from the box, I do like the fit and I don’t have many dress that have sleeves. I do think the price was a bit much, but I was able to use my credit toward the dress.
ewku2xepv7ygmiyqsg2x
Toms – Classic Alpargata Solid Canvas Slip-On Flats – $48 : I sent these back, I am really bummed that my stylist choose these shoes because I wanted some cute and unique shoes that I can’t just find at any shoes store. Plus the price was a bit much, I can find these at Nordstrom Rack for $30 or less.
rq7vo2hmowzwd0l98eb9
Staccato – Katara Crossfront Tank Top – $34: The print on this top was cute, but I hated the fit of this. My stylist said that she picked this top because I mentioned I have a large chest and she thought this would be a flattering fit. I am not sure why she thought that, the top splits at the top and shows off your chest?
wbxokajpgz48p0xhwj5q
Sophie Rue – Grove Lace Detail Sleeveless Blouse – $36: I hated this top so much! It is hard to tell in the photo but the material of this top (which I forgot to look at the tag to see what kind of fabric) was terrible! This felt like a cheap top from Wal-Mart and I would never spend $1 on this.
xs866lujmzarnckils61
Nine Britton – Davia Knit Dress – $44: I loved the fit and fabric of this dress. I just wish it would have been a solid or in a different print. The colors of the dress didn’t flatter my skin tone, which is the reason I returned.

Overall, I didn’t love this box. I only kept the one dress, and even though it will be good to wear to work, it isn’t anything fancy and I feel like I could find that dress at TJ Maxx. I  am bummed that she sent Tom’s, I can get those anywhere and the other pieces just didn’t work for me. I rated this box a 3 out of 5 because I really was not impressed with it at all, I felt like my stylist didn’t try very hard to pick pieces that were my style at all.

For the next box, I requested some fun tops to wear on my upcoming trip to Austin. I also asked for more t-shirt styles to wear with jeans to work and some thin sweaters to transition into fall to wear over all the cute tanks I have.

Below is what I got in my second August Box.

zojzpaxgu0t9hwrddy2z
Nine Britton – Alycia Knit Dress – $48: This is the dress my stylist choose based on my daily style quiz, and this is where the style quizzes get tricky. Just looking at this photo of this dress, I do like the dress, but what you cannot see is the vertical thick stripes that go down the sides of the dress that really don’t make it flattering on.
yvw6fn7emjx0qcbd0rwq
Sophie Rue – Abrielle Lightweight Cardigan – $44: This was the one piece that I kept from the box. I liked the fit, and the fabric is very soft. It is a bit pricy but I still had some credit left over to put toward the sweater. I do think that I will get a lot of wear out of this so that is why I choose to keep it.
tjvztuwzhsiu1eoa6y3e
Mix By 41 Hawthorn – Arnold Raglan Knit Top – $38: I really loved this sweater, it was thin and not too hot, which I like because I do run warm. I returned this because of the length, it hit right at the hips but I prefer longer tops.
fycxu2nzkcxbz6amm5uo
DJ & JUJU – Maxwell Tie Front Knit Top – $38: I didn’t like this top at all. This doest match my style at all. The fabric wasn’t great and the length was sort, so all around bad.
q8jo59rx5zonqlhgnfzd
LUQ – Pryor Off the Shoulder Top – $34: I really liked this top. My stylist included this for me as a choice to wear on my trip to Austin this weekend. I did return it because it just didn’t flatter me, mainly because what you cannot see is that the back is all open. If the back was closed I might have been more inclined to keep it, but I knew I might only wear it on this trip and didn’t want to spend the money on a top that I would only wear once.

Order Total $202

Again, I wasn’t super impressed with this box, I feel like she relied on my daily style quiz picks, and even though I love the daily style quizzes, I don’t think that they always accurately represent what looks good on me or my style profile I set up. I did go back and run though my style profile again and changed a few things up. I hope this helps get me some pieces that I love in my next box.

In my note for my next box, I told my stylist to surprise me and that all I was really looking for was some summer to fall transition pieces.

If you have Stitch Fix, I would suggest getting the app so you can take the daily style quizzes!

If you don’t have Stitch Fix, I highly suggest it! It is such a great subscription service and I have loved it so far! To get your first month free, click here! Also, if you see anything that I received that you like, you can request your stylist include it in your next fix!

July Stitch Fix

I bought the whole box! Yep, I liked everything in the box this month, everything fit well and matched my style, so I bought it all! I was starting to think I would never buy a whole box, but it finally happened.

Last month if you remember, I asked for just shirts and dresses, and that is what my stylist Rachyl sent me. In her note to me she said that she was focusing more on the swing style dress that I has previously purchased. She also included some tops that were great for work, but that could also transition to evenings out, which is what I  also requested to recieve this month. What I love about all these pieces is that these are something I would pick out at a store for myself but can never find. I also liked that that she included a variety of color, even though last month I did say I wanted more blue. All the pieces she sent I really don’t have any pieces like them in my current wardrobe.

Daniel Rainn
Daniel Rainn : Quinn Keyhole Crochet Top : Size – L : $64 : Now this is way more than I would spend on a top normally, but the quality of this top is really great and I was keeping the other things in the box, so it didn’t make sense to return. This top will be great for work or even going to a nice dinner with some jeans or black pants. The crochet details are really beautiful and the keyhole is also in the back. The bottom of the back is also split which gives it more detail and is very flattering.
Wheeler Back
Nine Britton : Wheeler Back Detail Knit Dress : Size – L : $44 : I really liked this dress. It is a bit shorter than I care for, but I liked the cross detail in the back, and I think this will look great with leggings in the fall so I am ok with the length. Again, because of the length I was thinking of returning but the cost didn’t make sense to return if I was keeping the other items. This piece also might turn into a gift for someone else who I know will love it just as much!
Eyelet Detail
LUQ : Marvelo Eyelet Detail Top : Size – L :$36 : I really love this top, it fits great and the eyelet detail really gives this a unique look. I don’t have anything in this color and it is unlike any other dressy tank I have. This will look great with shorts or jeans and I can wear with a sweater to work.
Knit Dress
Nine Britton : Eris Knit Dress : Size – L : $38 : I love the color and the fit of this dress, and a bonus is that this dress has pockets. This dress is so soft and I love it, I can see myself wearing this to brunch or even to work with a sweater.
Mixed Material
Kaileigh : Carah Mixed Material Pocket Tank Top : Size – L : $44 : I LOVE this tank top. I love the pattern and the color. The front of the top is a polyester material and the back is cotton, so it fits really great. I love how the pocket makes this tank a bit more casual. I am really liking this brand, I have received other pieces from it in past boxes and hope to see more in future boxes.

The total for this box was $226.00
-25% (56.50)
-$20 styling fee
Grand Total: $149.50

For next months box, I requested more short sleeve tops that I can wear to work without sweaters. I have been struggling to find short sleeve tops that I really like, and because all I have received in my boxes is tanks I wanted to switch it up. I also asked for more dresses and a pair of comfortable closed toed shoes that can be worn to work. I also requested more pieces from the Jolie line, this is the line that the dresses from my last two boxes came from. I thought the quality and the fabrics from that brand were really great and I would like to see more from that brand.

If you like any of these pieces, you should sign up for stitch fix here and get your first month free! Be sure to include the style and name of the piece you like and your stylist will be sure to try to include it in your box!

Also, I received an email that there is now a Stitch Fix kids! All the clothing items range from $10-$35 and all the policies are the same as the Stitch Fix Women/Men. This could be an issue for me because now that I was this, I want to get my niece and nephew a box! If I do, I will be sure to review for you all!

June Stitch Fix!

That time again, Stitch Fix delivery! Now, I have been watching a bunch of Stitch Fix unboxing videos (and Trunk Club too) and after watching them, I realized that my stylist writes me a note about all the things she includes in my box each month. How have I never realized this note? I think I just skip over it because I am so excited to see what is in my box. The note is located at the top of the style card that you receive. The style card is the paper that has the pictures of all the pieces you receive with styling tips.  I also learned that you can request pieces that you see others get, which I think is amazing. I saw a girl get the most amazing blue rain jacket that I might be requesting in the near future. So if you see anything from any of my hauls, let your stylist know and they can try to put it in your next box!

Last month I requested some fun tassel earrings (I have seen so many cute ones on Instagram and Pinterest), more warm weather pieces, more choices that could easily transition from work to evening, more blue (because that is my fav color) and more swing style dresses like the one I received in my last box. If you want to see what I got last month, you can check out that post here.

So this month my stylist mentioned in her note that she tried to include another dress similar to the one I received last month but she wasn’t able to find any blue ones. She also mentioned she tried to incorporate more blue pieces in styles that I could transition from day to night. So overall she really took my note and worked to pick out some good pieces for me.

Now, for what I received in this months box…..

One5One : Jodi Ponte Skinny Pant : $44 : These pants were great, I think these would transition from work to a night out. They were more of a cotton blend with a lot of stretch. They fit great! I didn’t keep these because I really am not looking for a pair of black pants currently.
oh4dxzvlvboqwmms9zmf
Papermoon : Bane Bar Detail Knit Top : $34 : I really liked this top, I just didn’t love the way it looked on me. I have really broad shoulders and this is cut like a halter top, which just accentuates how broad my shoulders really are. Also the top was a bit sheer and you could see my bra though it, so I didn’t think it was worth the money. I returned this piece, but I think my stylist really hit my style with this top, it is something I would try on if I saw it in the store.
pafozcwr2rb6woqkrirg
Jill Michael : Roma Chain Knot Earrings : $28 : Nope, not my style. When I requested tassel earrings, this isn’t what I expected. I wanted some fun tassel earrings that were hot pink or teal. These looked like they were straight out of 1990. I did try them on, because I didn’t want to judge them before I tried them. They looked as bad on as they do in this photo. I obviously returned these.
ptnoysjq0jyb2jibvbxk
Jolie : Fia Cold Shoulder Knit Dress : $40 : I think this color might be my power color. I have red hair naturally, so this color really complemented it. This dress is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. This is the same designer as the dress I received last month. I said last month that I am not a huge cold shoulder fan, but I loved this dress, so I had to keep it. I clarified for my stylist that I don’t have to have cold shoulder, I just like the swing style. I think I will request more pieces from this Jolie brand, because so far the fit and the material have been great on the pieces I have received.
Kaileigh : Jaggy Keyhole Back Blouse : $38 : The photo of this top doesn’t do it justice. This top is so beautiful in person. The shirt has a lot of blue in it, and I love it. You cannot tell by the picture but the back does have an open part down the middle of the top of the tank, it resembles the top of the other blue shirt I received. It is also a bit of a high low, more than what you can tell by the photo. I think this will be great to wear to work with a sweater and I can just wear it with jeans out to dinner if I wanted and it will still look great.

So even though I only kept 2 of the 5 pieces, I think that if I would have received some different earrings, I would have kept the whole box. The blue top, even though I didn’t love the way it looked on me, it was really nice, and I could have paired it with a jean jacket or sweater. Same with the pants, I would have worn them. But since the earrings were so much money and I wasn’t sold on the other 2 pieces, I decided to return them.

Now, for the total….

Total Box: $184 (might be the cheapest box I have received)
Discount if all itms bought -25% : -$46
Total with discount: $138
subtract the styling fee: – $20
Total for all items with discounts: $118

I only bought 2 items totaling $78 – $20 (styling fee) = $58

I love Stitch Fix and I can’t wait to get my box for next month! I am thinking of trying Trunk Club as well! If you do Trunk Club, leave a comment below and tell me what you think about it! Also, I have been including the link to join, but failing to mention that you get your first styling fee waived if you use the link! So check out Stitch Fix and let me know what you think!

May Stitch Fix!

I love sharing what I get in my monthly Stitch Fix with everyone. This box is great because I don’t have to do any shopping, and someone else is picking out what they think I might like, this in turn allows me to try pieces that I might not have picked up before.

This month I got a few pieces unique pieces, but I only kept one item in the box. If I get just one item I love and want to keep I think the box is totally worth it! Take a look at the photos of the items I got below.

Audrey 3+1 – Esmeray Open Kimono – $42   I have a hard time finding Kimonos that don’t look cheap or that aren’t too bright of colors. I really like this one and I thought that it could be paired with a lot of other colors. I didn’t like the way this fit me so I didn’t keep it, also I also thought that this was more of a fall type piece than spring which also helped me make the decision to return.

Urban Expressions – Robi Classic Work Tote – $48   This is the first time I have received a handbag, I did say in my style profile that I would like to receive handbags sometimes. I returned this bag because I feel like I already have a bunch of bags just like this one. I was really happy with the quality of this bag though, and what you cannot see in this photo is the inside of the bag was a beautiful navy and white stripe print. After returning this bag I did think it could have been something that I could have kept and given as a gift. This bag would have made the perfect gift for someone who carries their laptop or iPad around a lot, because it was very large and spacious.

Jolie – Raquel Knit Dress – $34     This dress was the one piece I did keep, I loved the style and the fit of this dress. I don’t have any dresses with this type of shoulder fit. I also thought the price was very reasonable. Although I do feel this is more of a fall dress I think that I will get some wear out of it this summer.

Skies are Blue – Montague Embroidered Top – $48  Looking at this photo, this top seems like something I would be drawn to and even order online myself. However, the quality of this top wasn’t that great. This top was very sheer and it didn’t fit well.

Warp + Weft – Tess Contrast Pocket Detail Skinny Jean – $98   I returned these jeans, mainly because of the color. I am really picky with my light wash jeans. I think sometimes the fade on them can make them look really cheap. The description was high rise on these, I didn’t think they were high rise at all, they were more of a mid-rise fit. This pari of jeans was also the most expensive thing I have ever received in a box to date.

This total box was worth $270. If I would have purchased all 5 items, the total would have been $202.50.

I hope you liked seeing what I got in this months Stitch Fix box, I still highly recommend getting this box. You can check out my other posts to see what I have received previously and just click this link if you would like to sign up!

April Stitch Fix

Vote is in, I love Stitch Fix. If you aren’t subscribed, click this link and subscribe. Just try it one time. I promise you will love it.

Just to refresh your memory, how Stitch Fix works is, its a monthly subscription service. You receive 5 pieces, it can be just clothing or a mix of clothing and accessories. When you sign up you fill out a style quiz and you can link your Pinterest board so your stylist can pick out pieces that will match your specific style. The subscription is $20 a month, and that subscription fee goes toward any purchase you make from your box. If you purchase everything in the box, you do get 25% off your entire purchase.

Now, I have to admit, this box wasn’t exactly what I expected. However, every piece in the box, I loved. This month they only sent me clothes, which I liked, I am not a big accessories gal. I did put in my note to my stylist last month that I wanted more spring looks. What I didn’t like was that they sent me 2 polyester tops. I love polyester, I love they way it looks, however I cannot wear polyester. It doesn’t love me. If you have a large chest you know what I am talking about, it just smashes you down and isn’t flattering. I put in my style profile, no polyester, so I am not sure why I was sent these pieces. It did disappoint me, mainly because those two things were my favorite in the box and if they wouldn’t have been that material I most likely would have kept the whole box.

Below is what I received in my box!

Brand: 41 Hawthorn; Dawney Scallop Trim Blouse – $54 I loved this floral top. When I submitted my note from my March box, this top is what I mentioned that I wanted, something springy that is work appropriate. However, this top was polyester, which I said in my style quiz that I didn’t want. I unfortunately had to return this top.

Brand: Colete; Romey Cold Shoulder Knit Top – $28 This pink top looked great on. It was a little bit more than I would spend on a top like this, but I have been struggling to find short sleeve tops that I like and that I can wear to work, so I wanted to keep it. It is hard to tell in the photo but it is has a  slit sleeve. I was worried when I got this that it might be too short, but it is a great length and not too clingy.

Brand: Tinsel; Casia Frayed Hem Chino Pant – $50 These pants are unlike anything I already have, and that is what I loved most about them. They fit awesome, they were a bit of a mid rise pant, I loved the pockets on the front and the distressed hem gave it something extra. I didn’t keep these because they were a bit big around my calf/ankle area. I am more on the petite side so I do like to buy petite or short pants so they hit me right at the ankle. These were a bit long and because of that I thought I might not get much wear out of them.

Brand: Kaileigh; Iviers Cross Front Knit Top – $30 I have been looking for a cute white tank that I can wear under long sweaters. This top is awesome, it fits great. It is a little sheer but I will put a white tank under it and it will be fine. I also think that this summer if I want to wear with shorts, a bralette will look great under it. I did keep this top because I think I will get a lot of wear out of it.

Brand: Papermoon; Scottsdale Crew Neck Blouse – $34 I wish this top was not polyester. This top was so cute and I loved the cut. It fit everywhere but the chest and made me so jealous that I couldn’t wear it! I am not sure if you can tell by the picture but the top has little cacti all over it.

Let me know if you sign up for Stitch Fix or if you already receive it and how your experience has been so far!

Stitch Fix Subscription

I finally broke down and got a Stitch Fix Subscription! For over a year I haven’t had any subscriptions and I was hesitant to start this one, but I have to say I am really pleased with my first box. I have been having a hard time finding tops that I like for spring and summer, and so I thought maybe if I gave this a try I could get some good, quality pieces that could help me transition my wardrobe to spring.

Stitch Fix is an online subscription service that provides a personalized styling service. The service provides 5 items that are hand selected based on your personal style and is shipped to you as often as every 2-3 weeks, to as little as 1 every 3 months depending on your preference.

I originally heard about Stitch Fix a few years ago when my friend joined and she raved about it. I was hesitant to join because of the $20 subscription fee. The other subscriptions I’ve had were only $20. However, I have since found out that the $20 fee can be applied to any of your purchases, and if you purchase all the items in your box, you get a 25% discount on all items.

Once you create an account, you will proceed to create a style profile that asks you questions about your personal style. This also includes photos that you can choose between to show which ones represent your style. You can always go back in an change your answers, or change your sizes at any time before your box ships. Another thing I like is that you can link your Pinterest page so your stylist can view your page to get a better feel for your personal style.

Once your box ships, you have 3 days to return whatever pieces you didn’t like. The shipment comes with prepaid USPS envelope, so all you have to do is put in the items you don’t want, tape it closed and drop it in the mail.

In my first box, I received a sweater, a long sleeve shirt, a long cardigan, moto stretch skinny jeans and a long necklace.

  1. Chara Boucle Open Cardigan, color-Off White, size L. –Retail $74pz223iznxppdgr3k0k7l

I loved this cardigan, the fit was great, the length was great, the material was great quality. This cardigan was very much my style and was a very basic and versatile piece. The only issue I had with this piece was the price. I couldn’t justify spending $74 on this cardigan. Now I am not saying I will never spend $74 on a great piece, but I just didn’t feel this one was worth it, and that is why I choose not to keep this piece and return it.

2.  Creevey Varsity Strip Pullover, color-off white, size L. –Retail $44.

s3xua9hdgxtbtqgoy6vs

I didn’t like this sweater at all.  Even though this sweater did go with the style I choose, the fit and material was not my style. This sweater was very short in my opinion. I prefer longer tops and this one hit right at top of my jeans around my hip area. It didn’t look great on me. I would almost consider this a bit of a cropped sweater. I also wasn’t a fan of the material, although it was thick the weave of the material was quite large so you could see your skin or tank top underneath.

3. Reid French Terry Knit Top, color-Black, size L. –Retail $36.

ugrxmwqrtf2ye7vf4xr5

When I opened the box, this was my favorite shirt. I loved the material, it was thin but you could see through it. This shirt was the perfect length and not too long. Now, when I tried this shirt on, it was a whole different animal, literally. I saw the shirt had a wider sleeve before I tried it on, but I didn’t think it would be an issue. Turns out, I am not a fan of the bat wing top and how it looks on me.

4. Brian Moto Detail Skinny Pant, color-olive, size 12. –Retail $50.

to6tobqmxe2rvyqubk9o

I loved this jeans, these are the only think I kept in this box. This box was totally worth it just because of these jeans. I have been looking for some jeans just like this for a while and I cannot find any that I like enough to spend the money on. These are stretchy and comfortable and fit perfectly and true to size. I also thought the price point for these jeans was not bad, around $50 is what I usually pay for a pair of jeans.

5. Laila Metal Bar Pendant, color- rose gold, size one size. –Retail $34.

gx7wfdmmjnwxule6lunp

This necklace was very pretty, and even though I loved the mix of metals I wasn’t a huge fan of this necklace. I have a larger chest so long necklaces just hit me at a weird spot. I didn’t keep this due to the the way it looked on me, but it did go perfectly with all the pieces in the box.

Total Cost of all pieces in the box: $238.00

Total Cost if all pieces were purchased: $158.50 (+the $20 you already paid)

Overall I was really happy with the box and I am fine with the $20 fee, the fee did go toward the purchase of the jeans. I got my box on Saturday, and I dropped the return envelope in the mail on Monday.

Included in the box is a small little pamphlet that shows you how you can style each one of your pieces. It shows the piece with two different looks, which I think helps you invision how you could wear each piece and give you ideas you might not have thought about.

After I tried on all my pieces I was able to log into my account and look at all the pieces I received, rate them, choose if I wanted to keep or return them and leave a comment about the piece. These comments and ratings help your stylist for future shipments.

One thing I was hoping to get in my box was more springy looks. However all the looks I got seemed like fall clothes. I was sure to notate that and request more spring looks for my next box.

I liked the box so much that I decided to go with the monthly subscription for now. I can change my preferences or skip a box at any time.

Let me know in the comments below if you have tried Stitch Fix. If you haven’t tried it, follow this link and check it out, you don’t have to commit right away and can order just one box and see how it goes, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to continue recieving. Oh, and I forgot to mention, they carry plus size, maternity and even mens clothing!
